The Challenge of the Dream
At Waterwell, we’ve spent 35 years obsessed with water—usually, how to move it, manage it, and use it to make landscapes thrive. But we know that mastering the water requires more than just the right tools; it requires grit, timing, and the right equipment. For the talented women’s crew at Coalporters Amateur Rowing Club, the dream is clear: competing at the prestigious Henley Women’s Regatta 2026.

Why Support Matters
In competitive rowing, the gap between 'training hard’ and ‘winning’ often comes down to the boat. Transitioning to an elite level requires equipment that can match the athletes' skills, and finding a high-quality, lightweight VIII can be a significant hurdle for any amateur club. Without a competitive boat, even the most dedicated crew faces an uphill battle on the river.

A Partnership Built on Water
We decided it was time for Waterwell to get even more involved with the element we love. To help the Coalporters crew take that vital step towards Henley, Waterwell has sponsored the purchase of a second-hand, lightweight VIII from University College Oxford.
While our team of engineers is busy across London and the Home Counties installing precision irrigation systems, these athletes will be on the River Itchen, putting the boat to work. We aren't just sponsoring a team we’re investing in a shared work ethic, and a ‘chasing the dream‘ mentality, that defines both elite sport and business excellence.

What’s Next?
This is just the beginning of our involvement. We will be following the crew’s progress, as they prepare and race on the coast and the river through the 2026 season.
